International Welcome Week

We are thrilled to have you join us and have put together a series of activities to help you immerse yourself into life in the UK and studying at UEA.

  • British Heart Foundation pots and pans sale

    Wednesday, Thursday and Friday; All day, The Street

    British Heart Foundation will be set up on the Street each day selling pots, pans, mugs, plates, cutlery - everything you could need to get set up in your new kitchen! Everything is super cheap and all money goes to charity.

    Cash or contactless payments accepted.

  • Life on Campus talk

    Wednesday 10; 15:00 - 16:00, Welcome Hub

    Come along to this fun overview of life on UEA’s beautiful campus! Learn where to find the places you need to use while you’re here – from the Student Information Zone to food spots to the laundrette – and more.

  • Speed Painting

    Wednesday 10; 18:00 - 21:30, Welcome Hub

    You’ve heard of speed dating and maybe even speed friending – but this takes it to a whole new level. Meet other new starters and get a bit crafty in this drop-in session. Paint a portrait, get to know someone new and beat the clock!

  • Introduction to Your Virtual Learning Environment

  • International Student Essentials Fair

    Thursday 11; 11:00 - 13:30, Welcome Hub

    Questions about your new campus? Want to meet those who have the answers? The Student Essentials Fair is the place to discover everything you need to know about UEA. Student Life, UEA Medical Centre, Study Abroad, Sportspark, Security and many more will be there to chat.

  • Study Abroad talk

    Thursday 11; 14:00 - 15:00, Welcome Hub

    A welcome event for visiting study abroad students joining us for a semester or year programme. Come along to learn more about what study abroad will be like at UEA, get to know the teams who are here to support you, and meet other study abroad students.

    Craft some accessories that will make your new home truly yours. From door signs to bookmarks, badges to bracelets, there’s something for everyone.

  • Visa Session

    Friday 12; 09:00 - 10:00, Welcome Hub

    These sessions will provide key information about your Student visa, including: a summary of your immigration conditions, information about working on a Student visa, how to maintain good academic engagement, and meeting eligibility for the Graduate visa.

  • Lanyard collection

    Friday 12; 10:00 - 11:00, Welcome Hub

    Pick up a lanyard associated with your School of study. Use it for your campus card, keys and spot other students on your course.

  • International Orientation Talk: Everything you need to know

    Friday 12; 11:00 - 12:30, Welcome Hub

    Topics such as how to get support, visas, access to healthcare, making the most of campus, Norwich and Welcome Week will be covered in this session.

  • Keeping Well Through Creativity

    Friday 12; 12:30 - 13:30, Welcome Hub

    Drop in, get creative and meet other students. Explore how you are feeling about starting university and find out more about wellbeing and mental health support during your time in the UK.

  • Games Night with UK Snacks

    Friday 12; 18:00 - 21:00, Welcome Hub

    Whether you’re super competitive or just wanting to learn, join us in The Warren for a huge variety of board games. You’ll also be treated to a variety of classic British snacks – chocolate, crisps, Monster Munch and more (all for free!).
