Journey Mapping Tool

To help you plan your journey to campus, we’ve created this handy travel mapping tool. The tool needs some information from you but will suggest the most cost-effective and environmentally friendly ways of getting to campus using public transport timetables as well as our lift sharing database.

Parking Options

Students can apply for a parking permit but due to limitations with parking spaces, priority for permits for students will be given to those with accessibility needs.

An alternative option is to use the free park and ride service from Costessey.

UEA staff and students are also welcome to sign up to our Liftshare database where you can find others making a similar journey to you. This is a fantastic way to share costs and help reduce the environmental impact of commuting.

Student Experiences

We understand that you may have some concerns about how commuting can impact your university experience. To help answer these, we asked some commuter students to share their top tips and experiences of commuting to UEA.

How to Meet Other Commuters

To help you get the most out of your time at UEA whilst commuting, there are various opportunities to network throughout the year.

Each month, current commuter students are invited to meet in Zest for a commuter’s breakfast. This is a chance to grab a bite to eat and chat to other commuter students.

During term time, the Learning Enhancement team host Study Together which is a free drop-in session to help students with their study techniques. These sessions are every Thursday of term between 1pm and 4pm.
